Harm Nothing Unjustly Big or Small

Allah عزوجل says in The Qur’an;

Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, “O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not. So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, “My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants.”

Surah Al-Naml, Ayahs 18-19

Being grateful to Allah entails treating his creation with goodness and mercy. Not even an ant is excluded from this kindness. Those seeking to serve Allah should know that this is servitude to mankind. Allah عزوجل says in The Qur’an;

Then when ‘Iesa (Jesus) came to know of their disbelief, he said: “Who will be my helpers in Allah’s Cause?” Al-Hawariun (the disciples) said: “We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e. we submit to Allah).”

Surah Ali Imran, Ayah 52

One must never flag in their duty to serve Allah’s creation. They must strive to promote Allah’s religion through Dawah, good naseeha, and purifying themselves. These deeds, if done for Allah’s sake Alone, will cause one to be an example and, if Allah Wills, a means of guidance for all person’s.

May Allah always guide us to what is most correct. Ameen.
